For 'De Derde Helft' (The Third Half) I gained access to the world of football hooliganism. Once a feared and notorious group, the Antwerp X-Side gradually changed when a younger generation entered the scene around 1986.
They referred to themselves as 'casuals' since they stopped wearing team colors or jerseys and opted for wearing brands like Fred Perry or Stone Island, making it easier for them to blend in with the crowd. Now, more than 30 years later they've rebranded again and instead of being incognito they take full public pride by wearing custom hoodies, jackets and shirts with their 'firm' prominently displayed.
This is the Antwerp Casual Crew.
